Managing Lifts and Escalators
RealWorld Experience
Our longstanding ‘real world’ experience managing lifts, escalators and cradles means we work alongside you to add value to your assets and achieve your objectives.
By real world we mean that our expert engineers have worked where you are. They bring their own personal experience and the understanding and appreciation of the demands and constraints of modern private and public sectors to every project and will always work with you to create the right solutions for you and your business.
Strategically, we have developed management and design policies for diverse organisations such as Central Government, national retailers, housing associations and NHS Trusts.
Our Chartered Engineers have numerous appointments as Authorised Engineer (Lifts) which is an NHS requirement under HTM08-02. For these Trusts, along with many other clients, we develop maintenance and lifecycle investment strategies helping you to maximise asset performance within available budgets.
Similarly, our pre-acquisition surveys identify the risks and costs presented by vertical transport equipment when clients consider a potential purchase of a property.

StructuredMaintenance Audits
A key factor in investment decisions is the safety of a lift, escalator or cradle. Our structured risk assessments identify hazards and improvement measures in addition to helping you meet your obligations under The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations.
Our structured maintenance audits are central to the service we offer in a ‘business as usual’ environment. Not only do they ensure you receive the service you expect, but they are proven to improve performance and reliability. This is because the closed loop monitoring and management system applies a consistent 100 point audit regime to derive a defects list and quality score. This quality score is really helpful as it permits trending – over time, between units and, on larger estates, between contractors.
We have over 600 units subject to regular annual audit across the UK and Ireland and we use this to take a truly national view of performance quality across the industry.
This is a good way to measure contractor performance which, along with natural contract expiry can be a driver to re-procure your lift, cradle or escalator maintenance contract. For this, we construct bespoke specifications reflecting your precise needs including: engineering demands of the units, specific operational requirements and scope of service – from basic provision through threshold inclusion value to commercial key performance indicator requirements. We will manage the whole process on your behalf or in a technical only role – whatever is appropriate for your organisation.
