We’re delighted to share that SVM Associates was recently featured again in Elevator World, one of the most respected publications in the vertical transportation industry.
Elevator World’s Lindsay Fletcher made her first trip to the UK to attend LIFTEX 2025, and we were honoured to spend the day with her, taking her on a walking tour of some of our most significant projects from Westminster through to the City of London.
The article gives a wonderful behind-the-scenes glimpse into the kind of work we do every day. The work that often goes unseen but quietly keeps some of the UK’s most iconic and historic buildings moving.
Some of the highlights along the route included:
A visit to the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in Westminster: the largest dedicated conference and exhibition space in central London, where we have been working since 2015 on a comprehensive lift modernisation masterplan across 17 lifts, balancing operational continuity with long-term investment planning.
A stop at Westminster Abbey’s Choir School, one of the most unique and historic settings you could imagine working in, where the challenge isn’t just technical, it’s about respecting nearly 1,000 years of history while delivering a modern, reliable service.
And that’s just the beginning of the tour. The full article covers several more projects and locations, each with their own story, their own complexity and their own set of challenges that we’re proud to have helped navigate.
As Lindsay explains:
“The purpose of the tour was not just to visit lifts and lift projects but to also gain insight into the background and unseen activities not readily apparent to lift contractors and the supply chain. And SVMA did not disappoint. Their numerous and varied consultancy contracts cover locations not just in London but across the U.K., with projects in a wide variety of building types that provide a wide array of services.”
